Meet the new Nightshift cover stars

Oxford music magazine, Nightshift was kind enough to feature the band on the cover of their December issue. There’s also a double-page spread inside, containing an interview with Moogieman and the Masochists talking about the new Doppelganger EP, band politics, and oddball influences.

The cover photo is by Jason Warner of glasshertzzphoto and we think he did a cracking job.

Moogieman might yet end up enjoying the accolade of being the last ever artist to kick off the Oxford Punt and his 2016 opening set at the Purple Turtle remains a favourite memory of that May evening. So, the last In The Spotlight – the boutique semi-open variety night at the Albion Beatnik Bookstore, run by Moogieman and Lewis Newcombe – coincided with World Book Night.

‘What’s World Book Night?’ I hear you ask, ‘and is it related to World Book Day?’ Normally you’d expect the night to immediately follow, apart from some unspecified but certainly brief twighlight period, the day.

Check out some early colour film, isn’t it beautiful?

This is some of the earliest colour movie footage. It was scanned recently and put on YouTube by Kodak, who created it as a test clip in 1922. That’s 13 years before the first full-length colour feature film, Becky Sharp.

The NHS is the third largest organisation in the world, behind the Chinese Red Army and the Indian State Railway. I’ve often heard this impressive statistic cited. In fact I’ve said it myself on more than one occasion.
