Moogieman songs have made into Nightshift Magazine‘s top 25 tracks of the year for the last 3 years. This year, Ghost Driver, the new single featuring all of the Masochists has climbed higher than ever before to 13th place.
Released on Halloween, is this placement the result of malign forces at work in East Oxford, or even the result of satanic rituals and a summoning at the Moogieman commune, or just coincidence?
Look forward to more esoteric pronouncements from the band in 2020.

Oxford music magazine, Nightshift was kind enough to feature the band on the cover of their December issue. There’s also a double-page spread inside, containing an interview with Moogieman and the Masochists talking about the new Doppelganger EP, band politics, and oddball influences.
The cover photo is by Jason Warner of glasshertzzphoto and we think he did a cracking job.
Oxford music magazine Nightshift’s monthly guide to the best local music bubbling under (from the August 2017 issue) Who are they?
Moogieman is Shan Sriharan, plus his Masochists: Claire LeMaster (keys); Vincent Lynch (bass), and Stefano Maio (drums/guitar), plus part-time member Clare Heaviside (saxophone). (more…)
Is it when all the tracks have been laid down and mixed? When it’s mastered? When the CDs (or vinyl if you’re posh) are pressed? When the launch is set? The Moogiemedia team can at least say we have reached the beginning of the end, with the all the songs tracked and mixed. The mixes are being reviewed and there will be some minor adjustments but we’ll hopefully be able to announce a launch gig soon.
In the meantime here is some footage of the final recordings made for the album – some of the more experimental tracks
So, we’ve been pretty quiet at the Moogiemedia offices for a while. Behind the scenes, however, there’s been a flurry of activity.
The P.O.P. EP, released on CD at the Klub Kakofanney gig in summer, is now available for download on Bandcamp.
Mainly, though, there’s been lots of work on a new album. It has a photography theme (the planned title is Girls And Film) and is due to be released in Spring 2016. (more…)
After seeing in the new year by hosting a Surrealist-themed party and then grappling with a bad cold, here’s a somewhat belated overview of 2014 and a look at the coming year. (more…)
Things have been quiet here at moogieman.com but there has in fact been quite a lot going on. First of all I’ve managed to produce the first live video from the EP launch gig at the Albion Beatnik back in July, so here I am with the Masochists playing When We Vicariously Touch.
The new Moogieman band played a short but arresting set at George’s Jamboree last night. Alongside Vincent Lynch on electric drums, the Masochists include Claire LeMaster on keyboard. We should hopefully see some full-length Moogieman and the Masochists gigs early in the new year.
